Growing dahlias from seed is like going on an adventure, you just never know what you are going to get! Dahlias tubers contains the DNA of the plant while seeded propagation is prey to capriciousness of nature and may result in slightly different versions of the parent. It can take a full season for you to see flowers on your seeded dahlias. Germination period is approximately 7-21 days. In the first year, slender tubers will form but they will not be anything worth harvesting and will need another year or two to develop good growth nodes and produce bodacious plants. Success rate is 30-50%

We are a small family farm located in Redmond, WA.
Each of our tubers/seeds are harvested, processed and preserved by hand and while we've done our best to increase our stock to keep up with demand, as a small family farm, we offers very limited quantities of our tubers each Spring. They will likely sell out fast, so snag your favorites before they sell out.Jess's Dahlia Garden is in compliance with the State of Washington Department of Agriculture (WSDA) Plant Services Program. You will receive a WSDA certificate indicating our nursery stock has been inspected during the growing season and found free of quarantine pests and practically free of other injurious pests.
In compliance with trade regulations, we can only currently ship to the 48 contiguous United States.
