Cafe Au Lait Morado
SOLD OUT for the 2022 growing season.
6-8 ” blooms in lavender lilac blending into mauve towards the center. A beautiful spot from Cafe Au Lait with same flower style but shorter plant stature. Not quite a Royal, not a Rose, she is like a mix of Cafe Au Lait Rose and Cafe Au Lait Royal. This variety was first made available to us through a dahlia exchange and has been consistently true to it's color for the last 3 seasons. We do not know the origin or the "story" behind her cultivation. Plant height is 3 '.
*** Introduced around 1967, the colors do vary A LOT - they’re pink, they’re purple, they’re creamy yellow, they're blush, they're peach, they're ivory. We've reached out to many growers regarding the sub-varieties (Rose, Royal etc.) but it seems each has their own take and we came to no conclusion. So for inventory purposes, we decided to classify the sub-species as follows:
1) Cafe Au Lait - mostly blush, soft peach, ivory and creamy yellow;
2) Cafe Au Lait Royal - soft lavender to pink;
3) Cafe Au Lait Rose - mostly deep pink with some having variegated lighter pink, lavender;
4) Cafe Au Lait Blanco - all white;
5) Cafe Au Lait Morado - soft lavender and purple with lighter center.

Each listing is for a single division of tuber, each tuber is individually checked to ensure they are viable with visible eyes/bumps/nods prior to shipping.
Each of our tubers are harvested, processed and preserved by hand and while we've done our best to increase our stock to keep up with demand, as a small family farm, we offers very limited quantities of our tubers each Spring.
They will likely sell out fast, so snag your favorites before they sell out. This page will be updated as the variety sold out.
In compliance with trade regulations, we can only currently ship to the 48 contiguous United States.
